Ingredients
Ingredients
- 6-7 slices of Bread
- 1-2 medium sized Onion
- 5-6 Curry leaves
- Mustard (sarson/rai) seeds
- 1/2 inch Ginger
- 1 medium sized Tomato
- 2-3 Green chilly (as spicy you want)
- finely chopped Coriander leaves
- 3-4 tbsp cooking oil
- Turmeric Powder
- Salt to taste
- 3-4 tbsp cooking oil
- Turmeric Powder
- Salt to taste
Steps:
Step 1: Take the bread and break/cut it into small pieces.
Step 2: Finely chop the green chillies, ginger, coriander leaves, onions and tomatoes.
Step 3: Now we are ready with the ingredients to start with the making of Bread Poha.
Heat a pan/kadhai, then add cooking oil to the pan. Once the oil is heated, add some mustard seeds. Let it pop for sometime. Then add curry leaves to it. Add ginger and green chilly. Stir for sometime.
Step 4: Now add the sliced onion to it. Stir and let it cook for sometime. Add salt to it. Cook at low/medium flame.
Step 5: Once the onion turns little brown, add little turmeric powder to it. Then add the tomatoes.
Fry it till the tomatoes turns mushy. Cover the pan with lid to cook well. If the mixture sticks to the pan, you can add 3-4 tbsp of water and then cook it.
Step 6: After the tomatoes are mushy, add the bread slices to it and mix it well so that the bread coats well with the mixture. Stir and cook it for sometime at low flame. Finally, add the chopped coriander to it and mix it. Mix it gently or else it will result in breaking of bread pieces.
Step 7: Your Bread Poha is now ready to be served.
Tips:
- Make the stack of the bread and cut it together, this makes your work easier and takes less time.
- Whenever you feel that the masala is sticking to your pan/kadhai, just add little water to it and the stickiness will go.
- You can also add vegetables to it, as per your choice.
